Address: Pelikaanstraat 84, 2018 Antwerpen, Belgique During the pre-registration period in December and January, you already provided your hotel requirements. Please refer to the tab ‘Register’ for more details. The hotel has limited parking spots. We recommend parking in one of the public car parks in the neighbourhood. These are the recommended car parks:
Site visitsOn Friday 20 March, you will have the opportunity to visit one of the following three project sites:
You can register for these site visits via the tab ‘Register’. Please respect the efforts of your colleagues to organize these site visits by only registering if you are actually planning to attend the visit. The site tours will be given in either Dutch or English. Please bring your own safety gear (shoes, helmet, high visibility jacket). For those coming from abroad, please indicate which safety gear you need in the registration form. Due to limited parking options on all three sites, it is mandatory to join the shuttle service to the sites. The shuttles leave at 9h at the hotel NH Collection Centre Antwerp. After the site visit, you will be able to enjoy a lunch on site before returning back to the hotel by shuttle. ROCO – Oosterweel junction (Antwerp) Due to the complexity of the Oosterweel Junction, the project has been divided into several subprojects. JV ROCO (incl. BESIX and BESIX Infra) is responsible for the largest section: Lot 3B on the right bank of the city of Antwerp. Their mission is to complete the northern section of the Ring by constructing the Canal Tunnels. It also includes dismantling the iconic Merksem viaduct to make way for a sunken ring road that will seamlessly connect neighborhoods and create a modern, green urban zone. Visitors will be able to visit several parts of this huge site, also coined “the infrastructure site of the century” in Flanders. Multiple BESIX Group entities are contributing to this project, including BESIX, BESIX Infra, BESIX Unitec and Franki Foundations. COTU – Oosterweel junction (Antwerp) JV COTU is responsible for the Scheldt Tunnel, a pivotal component of the Oosterweel junction in Antwerp. The Scheldt tunnel will connect Antwerp’s left and right banks. The tunnel is being built via the immersed tunnel method. The eight elements were constructed in a dry dock in Zeebrugge, and towed via the North Sea and the River Scheldt to their final destination. At the moment of the visit, all elements have been immersed and visitors will be able to discover parts of the immersed tunnel. Multiple BESIX Group entities are contributing to this project, including BESIX, BESIX Infra, BESIX Unitec, Franki Foundations and BESIX Steel & Formwork. Karel de Grote Hogeschool / De Meir (Antwerp) Visitors will be able to see a mixed new construction and renovation project which will result in a sustainable college campus and a prestigious retail complex. BESIX and its JV partner WYCOR are constructing 3 new buildings and renovating 3 existing ones. The combination of renovation and new construction is not an easy task. Priority is given to preserving the heritage, while the new buildings will be seamlessly integrated with the surrounding historical buildings. To this end, characteristic stately façades are preserved, along with the high ceilings, authentic glass panes and brutalist architecture from 1970.
MobilityBecause the hotel, conference location and dinner location are not always within walking distance, we have foreseen several shuttle services during this year’s Annual Meeting. Before the conference:
After the conference:

The shuttle service that is most interesting for you depends on which hotel nights you’ve booked. If you’ve booked two or more hotel nights (nights of 18, 19 and/or 20 March): On Thursday morning, you can either walk to the conference location (10 minutes’ walk) or take the shuttle bus from the hotel to the conference location. If you’ve booked only one night at the hotel before the conference (night of 18 March):
If you’ve booked only one night at the hotel after the conference (night of 19 March): If you haven’t booked any nights at the hotel: |
